Played but in very nice condition (part of the M and most of the G of EMG print has worn off on both pickups). Was an easy player and felt good. Ive had it almost 20 years maybe more. One of my favorites; but I didnt have time to play it.
Great sound and good feel. Overall; this was a solid guitar. The white gel coat finish is not perfect; with some very minor scratches and a couple of very small rough spots. The frets had been dressed up before I bought it; and show almost no wear now. Nothing you can feel by rubbing a fingernail over them.
The tone and volume crackle a little when twisted quickly; but are not noisy when it was played. There is no battery corrosion on the terminal or in the battery box. Battery cover is complete and included. Guitar is missing bridge, strings, and headpiece (screws are still there). Volume and Tone knobs are likely not original. Serial number is 6738; I believe this to be a 1989 Steinberger. I have not pulled the top cover to look for additional dates. This guitar DOES NOT have the Active electronics. It has a battery; but most EMG require this. The TONE potentiometer does NOT have a centering spot like the active electronics models would have. Original TKL Hard Shell Case looks great. Padding is nice and firm.
There are a couple of chips in the vinyl. A broken ring finger and right wrist assure me I will not get around to playing it in my retirement as Id planned. If you are looking for a perfect guitar; this is not it. Please be aware of what you are looking at. As this is a true vintage musical instrument; but it needs parts.
